MTS Invests $100 Million

MTS will invest $100 million in network development in Republic of Tatarstan in 2008-2010, says MTS President Leonid Melamed.

Investments will be made in 2-2.5G network, infrastructure development, construction of 3G network, and quality improvements of the company’s services.

In Mr. Melamed words, Kazan is one of the first cities where MTS will launch its 3G network. By the end of 2008 the company will also launch the 3G network in Naberezhnye Chelny, another Tatar city.
